Replacing spreadsheets and a slow website with one system that runs the business
JL Coastal Projects is a premium building and construction company on the Gold Coast, specialising in custom home builds, luxury renovations, and commercial fitouts. The kind of business where the work speaks for itself — but the digital presence wasn't keeping up.
The situation
Matt and Sam had a WordPress site that loaded slowly, looked generic, and did nothing to qualify incoming enquiries. Every lead came through the same basic contact form — a homeowner wanting a $15K bathroom reno looked identical to someone planning a $600K custom build. There was no way to prioritise, no way to track where leads came from, and no way to tell which Google Ads campaigns were working.
Quoting was happening in spreadsheets. Lead follow-up was manual. The website didn't reflect the quality of the builds — and for a business trying to attract premium clients, that gap was costing them. They didn't need a new website. They needed a system.
What we delivered
A single platform that handles the public-facing website, lead qualification, quoting, content management, and marketing intelligence — purpose-built for how a construction business actually operates.
A website that qualifies before it converts
The site is designed to attract the right enquiries, not just more of them. Service pages explain scope, timelines, and indicative pricing so visitors self-select before they make contact. A four-step quote request form captures service type, timeline, budget, and contact details — so Matt knows what he's dealing with before he picks up the phone.
Quoting that takes minutes, not hours
An itemised quote builder with room-based assemblies, pre-built templates for common scopes, and material and labour line items. Quotes export as branded PDFs and are shared with clients via a unique link — they open it in the browser, no login required. No more spreadsheets, no more copy-paste.
Every lead tracked from first click to first call
Every form submission captures where the lead came from — which Google Ad they clicked, which page they landed on, which suburb search brought them in. The admin dashboard shows lead status, source attribution, and follow-up history. Nothing falls through the cracks.
Google Ads that report back in plain English
Campaign performance, keyword quality scores, and search term reports pulled directly from the Google Ads API into the admin dashboard. Matt can see which campaigns are generating real enquiries and which are burning budget — without logging into Google.
Local SEO for the suburbs that matter
Dedicated pages for Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, Southport, Robina, and Mermaid Beach — each with location-specific content and structured data. When someone searches for a builder in their suburb, JL Coastal appears with local relevance, not a generic Gold Coast listing.
Content they control, design we maintain
A full admin portal for managing projects, services, testimonials, blog posts, FAQs, and service areas. We handle the design and platform on retainer — they update what changes. The QBCC licence, project galleries, and client reviews stay current without waiting on a developer.
The outcome
The shift Matt described — a change in the quality of enquiries — came from doing several things at once. The website communicates premium before a word is read. The quote form filters tyre-kickers from serious projects. The suburb pages bring in people searching locally, not generically. And the ad reporting means budget goes to campaigns that actually work, not the ones that look busy. The platform didn't just replace a website. It replaced the way the business handles every enquiry from first click to first conversation.
“Our business has started to see a big shift in enquiries through his knowledge of data and analytics. Not to mention the website he delivered for us is by far more than what we expected.”
